Rush to Judge a Fox

So Michael J. Fox has made stem cell research an issue in the election, using his celebrity and illness to gain support for it. He doesn’t take his medication so the effects of his Parkinson’s Disease become more pronounced. Parkinson’s Disease kills the affected person over years, slowly robbing them of the ability to control any movement.

Rush Limbaugh is criticizing him. Why am I not surprised by Limbaugh's comments? Because the man has about as much compassion as a flea (and I'm probably insulting the fleas) and his out of control venting only proves it. I wonder how he'd feel if their positions were reversed?

His hypocrisy is unrivalled. Wasn't this the man who spouted the opinion that any drug abuser should be summarily tossed in jail? At least he did until he was caught.

Limbaugh has zero shame in savaging anyone who doesn't agree with his 'I'm never wrong' view. It's a true disgrace to criticize someone whose illness will ultimately result in his slow degeneration and death.

Be a true man, Rush. Stand up and apologize.

For those girls lost in a town ironically called Paradise

The Amish Girl

She lies on the bed,
bleeding, broken,
dimly wondering why God
picked her for judgment,
when it was only an
accident of proximity
to the home of a hidden
tortured soul, one whose rage
flew below our everyday radar
until, given permission by
some demon, he rampaged
across an idyllic Wyeth
landscape to avenge a
sin committed when she
lay in God’s arms

tonight she’ll lay there again…

Sometimes it's an Awesome, Awful Revelation...

My five year old son took my hand yesterday, and all of a sudden I noticed it. His trust. The trust of a little child taking an adult’s hand. I hope I’m always worthy of that trust…
